Victory (Al-Fatt-h)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Surely We have given thee a manifest victory, 1 That God may save you from earlier and subsequent blames, and complete His favours on you, and guide you on the straight path, 2 And [that] Allah may aid you with a mighty victory. 3 It is He who sent down the Shechina (tranquillity) into the hearts of the believers, that they might add faith to their faith -- to God belong the hosts of the heavens and the earth; God is All-knowing, All-wise -- 4 And that He may admit men and women who believe into gardens with rivers running by, to live for ever there, and absolve their evil, -- This, in the sight of God, will be the great fulfilment -- 5 and that He may chastise the hypocrites, men and women alike, and the idolaters men and women alike, and those who think evil thoughts of God; against them shall be the evil turn of fortune. God is wroth with them, and has cursed them, and has prepared for them Gehenna -- an evil homecoming! 6 To God belong the hosts of the heavens and the earth; God is All-mighty, All-wise. 7 We have truly sent thee as a witness, as a bringer of Glad Tidings, and as a Warner: 8 So that (men) may believe in God and His Apostle, and honour Him and revere Him, and sing His praises morning and evening. 9 Verily those who swear fealty unto thee, only swear fealty unto Allah: the hand of Allah is over their hands. So whosoever breaketh his oath, breaketh it only to his soul's hurt; and whosoever fulfilleth that which he hath convenanted with Allah, him anon He shall give a mighty hire. 10
