The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O thou shrouded in thy mantle, 1 Arise and warn, 2 And thy Lord do thou magnify! 3 And thine raiment purify. 4 and defilement flee! 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 For when the trumpet blows 8 It will be a day of distress, 9 Far from easy for those without Faith. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 And children present [with him] 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 Yet is he greedy-that I should add (yet more);- 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 Indeed, he thought and deliberated. 18 May he be condemned! 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
