Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 a warning to humankind, 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 except those of the right hand 39 in Gardens they will question 40 concerning the sinners, 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 until death approached us". 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Indeed, each one of them desires to be given unrolled scrolls. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
