The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 We shall facilitate the path to bliss 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And denied the best matter, 9 We will ease him toward difficulty. 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 I therefore warn you of the fire that is ablaze. 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 But the God-fearing shall be kept away from it, 17 He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 And have in his mind no favour from anyone for which a reward is expected in return, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
