The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
