He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 or yet remember, and the Reminder profit him. 4 As for him who considers himself free from need (of you), 5 So you are after him! 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And he who comes to thee eagerly 8 And he feareth 9 From him you are distracted. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 Therefore let whoso will, keep it in remembrance. 12 (It is) in Books held (greatly) in honour, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 [Does man ever consider] out of what substance [God] creates him? 18 Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. 19 and then makes it easy for him to go through life; 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 Nay, but [man] has never yet fulfilled what He has enjoined upon him! 23 Let the human being think about (how We produce) his food. 24 That We pour down the water, pouring (it) down in abundance, 25 and then We cleave the earth [with new growth,] cleaving it asunder, 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 And grapes and herbage 28 and olives, and palms, 29 And thick gardens, 30 fruits, and grass. 31 A provision for you and for your cattle. 32 But, when the Blast comes, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 and from his spouse and his children: 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 and be cheerful and joyous. 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 and overcast with gloom: 41 They will be the unbelievers, transgressors. 42
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
