The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
