Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 and the day in splendour 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 you strive in various ways. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 and believes in the finest, 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 and from which the most godfearing shall be removed, 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
