Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 and exalted is the majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 The fool among us spoke against God outrage, 4 We had supposed that men and jinn would never utter a lie against God. 5 Some men used to seek refuge with the jinn in the past, but that only increased their insolence. 6 And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger]. 7 And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. 8 'We used, indeed, to sit there in (hidden) stations, to (steal) a hearing; but any who listen now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 And we know not whether evil is boded for those who are on the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth for them a right direction. 10 And that some of us are good and others of us are below that: we are sects following different ways: 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 Some of us are obedient while others are wrongdoers; it is the obedient who have found the right path, 14 but those who are wrongdoers will become the fuel of Hell." 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 so that We might try them through this bounty. Whoso turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to suffer a grievous chastisement; 17 Mosques belong to Allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than Allah. 18 When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). 19
