And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 and We established for him a good name among posterity. 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Then We did drown the others. 82 ۞ And lo! of his persuasion verily was Abraham 83 When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood). 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 And said, "I am sick," 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 And Allah has created you and what you make. 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased. 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 But as soon as the two had surrendered themselves to [what they thought to be] the will of God, and [Abraham] had laid him down on his face, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the dream (vision)!" Verily! Thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 and perpetuated his praise in later generations. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
