Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 and the severally severing 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a known term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
