The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 You shall certainly travel from stage to stage (in this life and in the Hereafter). 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
