Hizb 46
< random >
Jonah was certainly a Messenger. 139 He abandoned his people 140 And then drew lots and was of those rejected; 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Then produce your scriptures, if you are telling the truth. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship, 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 "And we are verily ranged in ranks (for service); 165 and we glorify God". 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 That they would be helped, 172 And that Our host, they verily would be the victors. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 And wait; they will come to know soon. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 And turn away from them for some time. 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And all the praise and thanks be to Allah, Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
