۞ And when the son of Maryam is held up, an example, behold! thy people thereat cry out. 57 And say: "Are our deities better or he?" They say this only for disputing. Surely they are a contentious people. 58 He was no more than a servant (of Ours), one upon whom We bestowed Our favours and whom We made an example (of Our infinite power) for the Children of Israel. 59 If We pleased We could have put angels in place of you as trustees on the earth. 60 And indeed Eisa is a sign* of the Last Day, therefore do not ever doubt in the Last Day, and obey Me**; this is the Straight Path. (* The advent of Prophet Eisa to earth for the second time. ** By obeying the Noble Messenger.) 61 Let not Satan misdirect you. He is your open enemy. 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 Verily Allah! He is my lord and your Lord, so worship Him: this is the straight path. 64 But the factions differed among themselves. Woe alas to the sinners for the torment of the grievous Day! 65 Are they awaiting anything other than the Last Hour that it should suddenly come upon them without their even perceiving it? 66 Friends on that day will be foes one to another, save those who kept their duty (to Allah). 67
