Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. 35 But We did not find therein save a (single) house of those who submitted (the Muslims). 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
