The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He has created man: 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of clay like, unto pottery. 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
