Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 As justification or warning, 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 and when the messengers are brought together at the appointed time -- 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the sinful ones. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 On that Day they will be speechless, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
