A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ AlifLaamMeemSaad. 1 A book has been revealed to you, (Muhammad). You should not hesitate to convey its warning and its good advice to the believers. 2 (Saying): Follow that which is sent down unto you from your Lord, and follow no protecting friends beside Him. Little do ye recollect! 3 How many a village have We laid in ruin! In the night Our Might fell upon it, or at midday when they were drowsy. 4 and they but cried, when Our might came upon there, 'We were evildoers.'; 5 (On the Day of Reckoning) We shall question the people to whom We had sent Our apostles, (if they followed their teachings), and will question the apostles. 6 Then most certainly We will relate to them with knowledge, and We were not absent. 7 And the weighing on that Day is certain, then whosesoever balances will be heavy, those! they shall fare well. 8 As for those whose bad deeds weigh heavier, they will lose their souls for their injustice to Our revelations. 9 We settled you on the earth, and provided means of livelihood for you in it; but little are the thanks you give. 10
