When the Messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the root of those (sinners) was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 [Lout (Lot)] said: "Verily! these are my guests, so shame me not. 68 Fear Allah and do not disgrace me' 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 And indeed that township is upon a road still in use. 76 Indeed in this are signs for the believers. 77 The dwellers of the Thicket were harmdoers. 78 and We took vengeance on them. The two of them were upon a roadway manifest. 79
