The people of Lut rejected the messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 “Therefore fear Allah and obey me.” 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
