Nay, and by the moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 Verily, it (Hell, or their denial of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, or the Day of Resurrection) is but one of the greatest calamities. 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 From the guilty. 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And rejected the Day of Judgement as a lie 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 So, the intercession of intercessors will not avail them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they will not remember except that Allah wills. He is worthy of fear and adequate for [granting] forgiveness. 56
