He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 when the blind came to him. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 Or be admonished, and the admonition profit him? 4 As for him who thinks himself self-sufficient, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And with fear (in his heart), 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 Nay, (do not do like this), indeed it (these Verses of this Quran) are an admonition, 11 and whosoever wills, shall remember it. 12 [It is recorded] in honored sheets, 13 Exalted, pure. 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Honourable and obedient. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what substance God created him? 18 From a drop of seed. He createth him and proportioneth him, 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 We let the rain pour down in torrents 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 and fruits, and pastures, 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 And his spouse and his son-- 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 Some faces that Day, will be bright (true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 38 laughing and joyous 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Darkness will cover them, 41 These are they who are unbelievers, the wicked. 42
