The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 and when the scrolls [of men's deeds] are unfolded, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 by the night swarming, 17 The rising dawn, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 Nor of the unseen is he a tenacious concealer. 24 And the Qur’an is not the recitation of Satan the outcast. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
