The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
