And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 We saved him and his people from great distress, 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 "Then what is your idea about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then turned he to their gods and said: Will ye not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 Then he turned against them secretly, smiting them with the right hand. 93 So they (people) advanced towards him, hastening. 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 “My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.” 100 Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy; 101 And when he attained the age of running with him, he said: O my son! verily I have seen in a dream that I am slaughtering thee; so look, what considerest thou? He said: O my father! do that which thou art commanded; thou shalt find me, Allah willing, of the patients. 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Peace be unto Ibrahim: 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 And We showered Our blessings on him and on Ishaq; and of their offspring are the doers of good, and (also) those who are clearly unjust to their own souls. 113
