The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 “I am the supreme lord of you all.” 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
