The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And no trifle. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
