Blessed be He Who has placed in the heaven big stars, and has placed therein a great lamp (sun), and a moon giving light. 61 And He it is Who has put the night and the day in succession, for such who desires to remember or desires to show his gratitude. 62 And the bondmen of the Compassionate are those who walk upon the earth meekly and when the ignorants address them, they say peace 63 And they who pass the night prostrating themselves before their Lord and standing. 64 And who submit, “Our Lord – avert the punishment of hell from us; indeed its punishment is a permanent neck-shackle.” 65 Verily ill it is as an abode and as a station. 66 They are those who are neither extravagant nor niggardly, but keep a balance between the two; 67 who do not invoke any god but Allah nor kill a soul, which Allah has forbidden, unjustly, nor commit adultery. -He who does this shall be punished for his sin, 68 doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection is his punishment, and therein he shall live, humbled, 69 except he who repents and believes and does good works those, Allah will change their evil deeds into good deeds; Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful. 70 and seeing that he who repents and [thenceforth] does what is right has truly turned unto God by [this very act of] repentance. 71 (And the servants of the Merciful are those:) who do not bear witness to falsehood and who; if they have ever to pass by what is vain, pass by like dignified people: 72 and who when they are reminded of the verses of their Lord, they do not fall down deaf and blind. 73 who say, 'Our Lord, give us refreshment of our wives and seed, and make us a model to the godfearing.' 74 Those shall be recompensed with the highest rank for their patience. There they shall receive a greeting, and peace! 75 There they shall live for ever; a fine dwelling place, and residence. 76 Say: 'My Lord esteems you not at all were it not for your prayer, for you have cried lies, and it shall surely be fastened.' 77
