Samood rejected the warning. 23 So they said, “What! Shall we follow a man from among us? If we do, we are indeed astray, and insane!” 24 Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar." 25 "Tomorrow they will know who is the impudent liar! 26 We shall send the she-camel to try them. So watch them, and be constant. 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn]. 28 But they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung [her]. 29 So how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 30 We sent upon them a single blast of sound and they were left like hay to be used by the cattle. 31 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 32 LOT'S PEOPLE [too] gave the lie to all [Our] warnings: 33 We sent against them a violent Tornado with showers of stones, (which destroyed them), except Lut's household: them We delivered by early Dawn,- 34 As a Grace from Us: thus do We reward those who give thanks. 35 And indeed he had warned them of Our seizure – in response they doubted the warnings. 36 and even demanded that he give up his guests [to them]: whereupon We deprived them of their sight [and thus told them, as it were]: "Taste, then, the suffering which I inflict when My warnings are disregarded!" 37 And at daybreak a determined punishment came upon them. 38 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 39 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 40
