The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Indeed, those who are bent on denying the truth reject it -- 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
