We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 We knowingly chose them above all other people 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Indeed these people say: 34 there is nothing beyond our first death; we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba' and those before them whom We destroyed? They were surely sinners. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We did not create them both but with the truth, but most of them do not know. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped - 41 Except those upon whom Allah has mercy; indeed He only is the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful. 42
