The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 for We did vouchsafe them Our messages, but they obstinately turned their backs upon them 81 And they were hewing out houses from mountains feeling secure. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and the Hour is surely coming, so overlook (O Muhammad SAW), their faults with gracious forgiveness. [This was before the ordainment of Jihad holy fighting in Allah's Cause]. 85 Surely your Lord is the All Knowing Creator! 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 So, by your Lord (O Muhammad SAW), We shall certainly call all of them to account. 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Who make [equal] with Allah another deity. But they are going to know. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
