1/2 Hizb 33

۞ And We verily gave Abraham of old his proper course, and We were Aware of him, 51 Behold! he said to his father and his people, "What are these images, to which ye are (so assiduously) devoted?" 52 They replied: 'We found our fathers worshipping them' 53 He said: Certainly you have been, (both) you and your fathers, in manifest error. 54 They said: Bringest thou unto us the truth, or art thou some jester? 55 Abraham replied, "Your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, who created them, and I bear witness to that. 56 And, by Allah! I will certainly do something against your idols after you go away, turning back. 57 So he made them into fragments, except a large one among them, that they might return to it [and question]. 58 [When they saw what had happened,] they said: "Who has done this to our gods? Verily, one of the worst wrongdoers is he!" 59 Some said, "We heard a young man, called Abraham, talking about them." 60 They said: bring him then before the eyes of the people, haply they may bear witness. 61 They said: Have you done this to our gods, O Ibrahim? 62 He said: But this, their chief hath done it. So question them, if they can speak. 63 Then they turned to themselves and said: Surely you yourselves are the unjust; 64 Then they were utterly put to confusion saying, 'Very well indeed thou knowest these do not speak.' 65 (Abraham) said, "Do ye then worship, besides Allah, things that can neither be of any good to you nor do you harm? 66 Fie upon you and upon all that you worship instead of God! Will you not, then, use your reason?" 67 They cried: Burn him and stand by your gods, if ye will be doing. 68 We said: O fire! be thou cool and peace unto Ibrahim. 69 They had sought to do him harm, but We frustrated them. 70 And We rescued him and Lut towards the land which We have blessed for the entire world. 71 And We bestowed upon him Ishaque (Isaac), and (a grandson) Ya'qub (Jacob). Each one We made righteous. 72 We appointed them as leaders to guide the people through Our command and sent them revelation to strive for good deeds, worship their Lord, and pay religious tax. Both of them were Our worshipping servants. 73 To Lot We gave wisdom and knowledge, and saved him from a people who acted villainously and were certainly wicked and disobedient. 74 And We admitted him into Our mercy. Verily he was of the righteous. 75
