And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 upon your heart (Prophet Muhammad), in order to be one of the warners, 194 It has been revealed in plain Arabic. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 Had We revealed it to any of the non-Arabs, 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals. 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 Then they will say: Shall we be respited? 203 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 What shall that which they enjoyed avail them? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 And this Qur'an was not brought down by the devils. 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Indeed they have been removed far from even (a chance of) hearing it. 212 So do not call on any deity besides God, lest you incur His punishment. 213 And warn your near relations, 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 And rely upon Allah the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 And as to the poets, those who go astray follow them. 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.
