Truly it is the revelation of the Lord of all Being, 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 Without doubt it is (announced) in the mystic Books of former peoples. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 Had We revealed it to a non-Arab 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 and then they will say: 'Shall we be respited' 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 What do you see? If We gave them enjoyment for years, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided. 207 We never destroyed any town without first sending to them warning and guidance. 208 as a reminder from Us: We are never unjust. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 it is not for them, nor are they able. 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who sees you (O Muhammad SAW) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers). 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 They listen, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
