۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 “What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?” 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 [To which] the others will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were bereft of all faith! 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 So verily on that Day they all in the torment will be sharers. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?” 36 Aye! he hath come with the truth, and he confesseth to the sent ones. 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.' 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 for them awaits a known provision, 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 A cup will be passed round among them [with a drink] from unsullied springs, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 Wherein there is no headache nor are they made mad thereby. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 A speaker of them saith: Lo! I had a comrade 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 He looked down and saw (his friend) in the midst of Hell. 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 Are we then not to die 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 Lo! it is a tree that springeth in the heart of hell. 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 And We had sent admonishers to them. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 74
