The Comet (Al-Taareq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
