The chiefs of the people of Fir'awn said: verily this is a magician knowing. 109 who wants to drive you out of your land! " [Said Pharaoh:] "What, then, do you advise?" 110 Then they advised Pharaoh: 'Put off Moses and his brother for a while, and send forth heralds to your cities 111 to summon every skilful magician to your presence.' 112 And the magicians came to Firaun, and said, “Will we get some reward if we are victorious?” 113 Answered [Pharaoh]: "Yes; and verily, you shall be among those who are near unto me." 114 They said: O Musa! either thou cast down, or we shall be the ones to cast down. 115 He said, “You throw”; when they threw, they cast a magic spell upon the people’s eyes and terrified them, and they brought a great magic. 116 We said to Moses: "Throw down your staff;" and it swallowed up their conjurations in no time. 117 ۞ So the truth was established, and abolished was what they were doing. 118 And Pharaoh and his people were overcome right there and became debased. 119 The sorcerers fell to the ground in homage, 120 They said, “We have accepted faith in the Lord Of The Creation.” 121 The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 Pharaoh said: Ye believe in Him before I give you leave! Lo! this is the plot that ye have plotted in the city that ye may drive its people hence. But ye shall come to know! 123 "Be sure I will cut off your hands and your feet on apposite sides, and I will cause you all to die on the cross." 124 They replied, "We shall surely return to our Lord. 125 for thou takest vengeance on us only because we have come to believe in our Sustainer's messages as soon as they came to us. O our Sustainer! Shower us with patience in adversity, and make us die as men who have surrendered themselves unto Thee!" 126
