Joseph (Yousuf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Ra. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. These are the Verses of the Clear Book (the Quran that makes clear the legal and illegal things, legal laws, a guidance and a blessing). 1 Surely We have revealed it-- an Arabic Quran-- that you may understand. 2 In revealing this Quran to you, We tell you the best of the stories of which you were unaware. 3 When Joseph said, "Father, in my dream I saw eleven stars, the sun and the moon prostrating before me," 4 He said, "O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers or they will contrive against you a plan. Indeed Satan, to man, is a manifest enemy. 5 "Thus will thy Lord choose thee and teach thee the interpretation of stories (and events) and perfect His favour to thee and to the posterity of Jacob - even as He perfected it to thy fathers Abraham and Isaac aforetime! for Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom." 6
