The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 In this, behold, there is a lesson indeed for all who stand in awe [of God]. 26
