The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 by the night when it approaches 17 The rising dawn, 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 but will you shall not, unless God wills, the Lord of all Being. 29
