The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
