The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 Shu'ayb asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no reward for this. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 "And weigh with scales true and upright. 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 And fear He who created you and the former creation." 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 You are but a human like ourselves, we think that you are one of the liars. 186 Cause, then, fragments of the sky to fall down upon us, if thou art a man of truth!" 187 Shuayb said: "My Lord knows well all what you do." 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 Verily herein is a sign; but most of them are not believers. 190 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 191
