Hizb 46
< random >
AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained inside the fish until the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ but We caused him to be cast forth on a desert shore, sick [at heart] as he was, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 Oh, verily, it is out of their own [inclination to] falsehood that some people assert, 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have ye an authority manifest? 156 Bring your book if what you say is true. 157 And some people have invented a kinship between Him and all manner of invisible forces although [even] these invisible forces know well that, verily, they [who thus blaspheme against God] shall indeed be arraigned [before Him on Judgment Day: for] 158 Hallowed be Allah from that which they ascribe to Him. 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 Wherefore verily neither ye nor that which ye worship, 161 shall not be able to tempt anyone away from Allah 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 And we are those who sing hallelujas to Him." 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 we would have certainly been sincere servants of God". 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 Our word had already been given before to Our votaries, the apostles, -- 171 That undoubtedly, only they will be helped. 172 and Our host -- they are the victors. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 So turn (away) from them for a while, 178 And watch, for they will soon see. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 Peace be on the Messengers. 181 And all praise unto Allah the Lord of the worlds. 182
Almighty God's Truth.
