Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (winds) sent forth in quick succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To clear or to warn. 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars are obliterated, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and the appointed time to bring the Messengers together arrives, (then shall the promised event come to pass). 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 And placed in it lofty and broad stablisers, and gave you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
