The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 And the mountains as projections (thereon)? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 so that We may thereby bring forth grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Except boiling water and benumbing cold: 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. 28 And everything We have recorded in a book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
