Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the night, when it envelops, 1 By the Day as it appears in glory; 2 And by Who created the male and female, 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 We shall surely ease him to the Easing. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 and calls the ultimate good a lie 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 Who gives the lie (to the truth) and turns (his) back. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
