The people of Lot accused the messengers of lies. 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 We destroyed the others 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
