The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the Mount, 1 And by the Book Inscribed. 2 On an open record. 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 By the roof elevated. 5 Consider the surf-swollen sea! 6 Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass; 7 There shall be none to avert it; 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 And the mountains will move away with a (horrible) movement. 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 all those who [throughout their lives] but idly played with things vain 12 The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence. 13 (And told:) "This is the fire which you denied. 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 Taste you therein its heat, and whether you are patient of it or impatient of it, it is all the same. You are only being requited for what you used to do. 16 Truly, the God-fearing will dwell [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 The offspring of the believers will also follow them to Paradise. So shall We join their offspring to them because of their faith. We shall reduce nothing from their deeds. Everyone will be responsible for his own actions. 21 And We shall increasingly give them fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin. 23 ۞ Youths as fair as hidden pearls will be set apart to wait upon them; they will be running to and fro to serve them. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 Saying: Surely we feared before on account of our families: 26 But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind: 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28
