In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was nothing to be mentioned? 1 Indeed We have created man from mixed semen; in order to test him – We therefore made him hearing, knowing. 2 Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful. 3 [Now,] behold, for those who deny the truth, We have prepared chains, iron collars and a blazing fire, but 4 Indeed, the righteous will drink from a cup [of wine] whose mixture is of Kafur, 5 a source [of bliss] whereof God's servants shall drink, seeing it flow in a flow abundant. 6 They [are those who] fulfill [their] vows and fear a Day whose evil will be widespread. 7 And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, 8 "We only feed you for the sake of God and we do not want any reward or thanks from you. 9 we fear from our Lord a Day that shall be long and distressful.” 10 Therefor Allah hath warded off from them the evil of that day, and hath made them find brightness and joy; 11 And reward them, because they were patient, with garden and silk, 12 Reclining therein upon couches, they will find there neither (heat of) a sun nor bitter cold. 13 The shades of the garden will be closely spread over them and it will be easy for them to reach the fruits. 14 And brought round amongst them will be vessels of silver and also goblets of glass. 15 Crystal-clear, made of silver: they will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes). 16 And therein they shall be given to drink of a cup whereof the admixture will be ginger. 17 (Of) a fountain therein which is named Salsabil. 18 ۞ And round about them will (serve) boys of everlasting youth. If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls. 19 Whitherto you look around, you will see an abundance of bliss and the glories of a great kingdom. 20 Upon the inhabitants will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink. 21 Verily this is for you by way of recompense, and your endeavour hath been accepted. 22
