The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
